Jacob Moose
5th Place Finish at LANCO “Clyde Martin Speedway”
The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints were in attendance and ready to race hard at LANCO Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway on Saturday Sept 11th. Series regulars #5 Sean Case, #15H Franklin Heinzmann, #18 Jacob Moose and #76 Logan Spahr were joined on the track by first time YG390 competitors #66 Ryan Plummer and #17 Alyssa Rowe. This would be the first time at LANCO for many of the YG390 drivers and teams so everyone was eager to get to the warm-up to see how their cars would be working. #15H Franklin Heinzmann would start from the pole in the Heat and lead every lap while #18 Jacob Moose followed right in his tracks and the rest of the field battled for the entire 8 laps. LANCO officials brought the YG390’s onto the mainstretch before the start of the Feature to introduce each driver to the many spectators on hand. All the drivers and teams thought it was a nice touch. At the drop of the green it was obvious this would be one of the most highly competitive races of the YG390 2010 season. #15H Franklin Heinzmann started from the pole and would gain an early lead as the #18 Jacob Moose, #5 Sean Case and #76 Logan Spahr would all tangle coming through turns 1 and 2. As the field sorted out #5 Sean Case would put increasing pressure on #18 Jacob Moose until the two would make contact on Lap 6 coming through T4. #18 Jacob Moose would spin while #5 Sean Case would drop to back of field before being able to gather up his car. On the restart #15H Franklin Heinzmann would have his hands full with YG390 newcomer #66 Ryan Plummer applying some serious pressure for the next 6 laps. Meanwhile, #5 Sean Case would not remain at the back of the field for long. Taking the high line around the high banked track, #5 Sean Case would pick off car after car until he made his way past #66 Ryan Plummer for the second position on Lap 13. With the two-to-go signal being given, #5 Sean Case would set his sites on leader #15H Franklin Heinzmann. With #5 Sean Case pulling along side, #15H Franklin Heinzmann would take the victory leading every lap and earn his sixth YG390 victory of the 2010 season and his very first at LANCO Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway. #5 Sean Case would grab a hard earned second place as #76 Logan Spahr would make a last lap T4 pass on #66 Ryan Plummer and grab the third position while passing under the checkered flag. #66 Ryan Plummer would have to settle for the fourth spot while #18 Jacob Moose, an early threat, would take the fifth position. The lone disappointment of the night was #17 Alyssa Rowe being unable to make the Feature due to engine issues after a strong first time showing in the Heat race.
