3rd Place finish in YG390 Debut at Shippensburg Speedway

The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints returned to Shippensburg Speedway Saturday night. They were joined by new member #18 Jacob Moose making his first start of the year. The warm-ups would be run under threatening skies with the rain falling hard just as the Heat races were called to the line. After a 4 hour delay and a lot of hard work by the Shippensburg Speedway track crew the decision was made to run Features only as a result of the midnight curfew. Both #15H Franklin Heinzmann and the #76 of Logan Spahr looked quick in the warm up. But the track had completely changed. Taking the green flag from the pole position, #76 Logan Spahr would set a blistering pace with #15H Franklin Heinzmann in hot pursuit. As the race neared the midway point #15H Franklin Heinzmann would have #76 Logan Spahr in his sights and coming out of T4 would make a quick move the inside and after a drag race down the main straightaway grab the lead going into T1. #76 Logan Spahr would not give up the fight as the two racers would run nose to tail for the remaining laps of the race. As the two drivers came out of T4 looking for the checkered #76 Logan Spahr would make a move to the outside and the two drivers would cross the line nearly side-by-side with #15H Franklin Heinzmann grabbing his first win of the season and his first in the Young Guns 390 Junior Sprint Series by less than a car length. #18 Jacob Moose would have a strong showing in his debut behind the wheel of a YG390 Junior Sprint but would suffer some engine issues in the final laps of the race and bring the car home in third place.
