Jacob Moose
4th Place at Selinsgrove 4-27-2012
Friday April 27, saw another evening with very cool temperatures, so far the 2012 season has been a little frustrating for Jacob Moose Racing. The engine has been running very strong, thanks to BAM Bob Albright, but we have been missing the car set-up in a big way so far this season. Coming into this evening, we tried a different set up for “hot laps” which didn’t make a difference in how the car is reacting. We made some changes for the heat race in which Jacob started 3rd, the car was better but not where it needs to be. Jacob brought the car home in 4th place for the heat race. For the feature, we made some additional chassis changes, which made the car terrible. The car was very, very tight, so tight that Jacob spun the car out during the feature event. Jacob did a very good job with driving a very ill handling car, bringing it home in 4th place finish. For next week we are going to be making some very big changes, we will be taking the car to a fellow racers garage and scale the car to see exactly where we are with weight, and see why the car is not handling. Then develop a “game plan” for the May 5th race at Selinsgrove, to make sure we are keeping up with the track. Hopefully this will be the beginning of getting our program back on track and start having some very strong finishes in the near future.
