Huisman Holds off for win!
After over 2" of rain at the track, and serious possibilities of cancellation, 18 cars signed in to do battle for the non wing opener. 2 sets of heat races saw Wade Huisman, and Dalton Johnson take heat race wins. 17 cars started the feature and a lot of cautions that saw some good cars taken out. Huisman held off a late race charge from Colin Smith to claim his first win of the very young season. Zach Drahota and Jason Wagoner were able to overcome starting far back in the field, and also avoiding all the wrecks to charge to top 5 finishes. The night was marred by a mid race red that saw last years Jackson Nationals winning driver Derek Steen taken out in an ambulance, with possible broken arm. But after getting checked out, he was sent home with just some bruising of the elbow. The series resume back at Jackson on May 31st with a winged race.
