This past weekend marked round 4 of the Red Line Oil Karting Series. Cabot quickly acclimated to the new track configuration and showed great speed. With a full day of testing before race day, Cabot and Brian Keck got the chassis dialed in. Race day was a little foggy with no wind and the sun was hiding. Cabot used his morning practice to scrub his Hoosier tires. Soon it was time to qualify. Cabot piloted his black CRG to second place on the times with a 48.68 second lap. Alex Keyes was a few tenths quicker. This was definitely one of Bigham's most successful qualifying attempts. Cabot had a great start in the first heat race. He quickly slotted in behind leader, Alex Keyes, and followed him up the tic-tac-toe. Alex got loose into the last turn and Cabot piloted his kart to the inside securing the lead. Bigham began to gap the field and got the win. The second heat race was eventful. Bigham started second again (progressive heat races) and launched off the line. He was leading the race by several kart lengths when he clipped a curb in tic-tac-toe the wrong way. He spun up in the air and rolled off the track. Bigham did not finish the second heat race in an attempt to save his tires. The main event was epic to say the least. Cabot Bigham started the race in third place. When the green flag dropped Cabot held his position into turn one. Cabot and competitor Daniel both dropped to the inside of Keyes in Monaco. Several laps later Cabot and Daniel were well ahead of the field and battling. Cabot made an unsuccessful pass into Cramer but ended up side by side into the following turn. With three laps to go, Cabot dove to the inside of Daniel right in front of the finish line. 2 laps later, Bigham was gone securing his first win in a 125cc shifter.

"This weekend was truly amazing and I learned a lot. I am really looking forward to more of the level of competition I experienced this weekend." - Cabot

Thank you to Brian Keck, the White family, Simraceway and my parents.
