Lingering engine issues hinder Wenger's Summer Nationals debut at FALS

McKay Wenger was one of 37 DIRTcar Late Models on hand at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) on Saturday afternoon to make his debut with the Summer Nationals Hell Tour. With engines issues in hot laps putting him behind the eight-ball for the remainder of the evening, Wenger came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish. Streaking to a 12-lap consolation victory, McKay secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Slated to start 18th, Wenger was unable to make the call for the 50-lapper after race officials hurried the event with severe weather approaching.
