Ashton Winger scores Top-5 outing in Bad Boy 98 at Batesville Motor Speedway

Getting his race car fixed up after a tough outing last weekend, Ashton Winger was back in action at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.) on Friday evening for the first night of the Bad Boy 98.

With 41 Comp Cams Super Late Models checked in, Winger clocked in second-fastest in his qualifying group before checking out in his heat race. Rolling off fourth in the short 30-lap opener, Ashton had made his way to the Top-3 when contact from another competitor sent him into the wall. Ashton was scored 18th with a DNF.

Hoping for a better outing on Saturday, Ashton finished runner-up in his heat race which earned him the seventh-place starting position in the $12,000-to-win finale. Keeping his nose clean throughout the extended 68-lap main event, Winger drove into the Top-5 and scored a fourth-place finish. He trailed Stormy Scott, Spencer Hughes, and Payton Freeman while Scott Crigler completed the Top-5.
