Gunnar Setser begins Indiana Sprint Week

The 38th annual USAC NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week got underway for Gunnar Setser on Thursday at The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Setser qualified fifth-fastest in his eight-car group and followed up a third-place finish in his heat race with a 13th-place effort in the 35-lap main event.

He cracked the top 10 the following night at Lincoln Park Speedway, finishing fourth in his heat and advancing four positions in the feature to post a solid ninth-place finish.

After Saturday’s scheduled stop at Kokomo Speedway was postponed due to weather, action resumed Sunday at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Setser continued his consistent form, charging forward seven spots in the feature to finish 11th.

When Indiana Sprint Week returned to Kokomo on Tuesday, Setser outdueled Ricky Lewis to win his heat race and matched his best finish of the tour with another ninth-place run in the 30-lap main.

Setser is eighth in the USAC NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week point standings as the summer slate continues.
