ASCS Warrior 2011 Schedule Revealed

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (January 27, 2011) – The American Sprint Car Series has long had a strong presence within the State of Missouri, with 61 Lucas Oil ASCS National events contested at 14 different tracks throughout the Show Me State since 1994.

Beginning in 2011, the ASCS will now have a well-defined Regional presence in the Show Me State as well with the ASCS Warrior Region, which operated as the Winged Outlaw Warriors from 2000 through 2010 before being acquired at the end of the 2010 racing season.

Now under the ASCS banner, the ASCS Warrior Region has released a 2011 schedule that includes 18 nights of competition at seven different tracks throughout Missouri as well as appearances at a pair of tracks just across the Illinois and Kansas borders.

The Warrior Region will conduct its first event under the ASCS banner, including full implementation of ASCS rules and format, on Saturday night, April 9, at LaMonte, Missouri’s LA Raceway.

After an event with the Lucas Oil ASCS National forces at Tri-City Speedway just across the border in Pontoon Beach, IL, on May 6, the first of two events tentatively scheduled for California’s Double X Speedway is set for May 29, with a Double X encore on July 3.

One night after the first of three ASCS Midwest vs. ASCS Warrior tilts at Cameron’s U.S. 36 Raceway on June 17 (with others on July 15 and August 26), the ASCS Warrior Region takes to “The Diamond of Dirt Tracks”, Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO, on June 18.

The following weekend, the ASCS Warrior Region squares off against the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by K&N Filters National forces for a pair of $6,000-to-win events at LA Raceway (June 24) and Eldon’s Lake Speedway (June 25).

An ASCS Warrior vs. ASCS Sooner Showdown at Springfield Raceway on July 2 leads into the July 3 Double X Speedway card, with August finding the ASCS Warrior Region at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS, for the first time on August 19-20 before the traditional Missouri State Fair stop in Sedalia on August 21.

The ASCS Warrior Region is currently scheduled to close out the season with a pair of September double dips that includes the Lake Ozark Speedway Sprint Car Nationals on September 3-4 and then the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial event in tandem with the Lucas Oil ASCS National series at Lucas Oil Speedway on September 23-24.

Eric Todd of Falcon, MO, is the defending Warrior Regional champion, with four-time series champ Randy Martin of California, MO, sitting atop the series win charts with 41 career Warrior feature triumphs.

Additional dates may be added, with those interested contacting Randy Combs at 573-375-0085.
