Inside Line Promotions – CORLEY, Texas (Oct. 6, 2015) – Channin Tankersley ended with a DNF last Saturday at Timberline Speedway.

“It didn’t go very well,” he said. “We started out behind the eight ball and just didn’t have enough opportunity to get the car better. The track was pretty slick and not very racy. The combination of the two just didn’t work out for us.”

Tankersley, who was driving for Bruce Griffith, finished where he started – fourth – in a heat race.

“We weren’t far off,” he said. “We were battling with second and third place. All three of us were close. We just didn’t find an opportunity to gain a spot or two.”

That lined Tankersley up on the outside of the sixth row for the main event.

“Right off the get-go I had a good start, but they called it back,” he said. “The second start wasn’t as great. I hung around 10th or 12th most of the race until the motor started acting up so I pulled off. It wouldn’t run very well. I’m not sure if the high speed stuck or what happened, but it wasn’t running real crisp or clear like it should be.”

Tankersley pulled off the track midway through the feature and was credited with a 20th-place result.

He will return to competition this Saturday at Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas, with the ASCS Red River Region. Tankersley hasn’t raced at the high-banked track since October 2012.
