Inside Line Promotions – SAPULPA, Okla. (Oct. 16, 2019) – Rain and a tough draw dampened last weekend at Creek County Speedway for Alex Hill, who invaded the bullring for a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event.

“We had a good car and it didn’t go too bad,” said Hill, regarding Saturday night’s racing after Friday’s scheduled front end of the doubleheader was canceled due to rain. “The track was kind of tough to pass on, so we mainly just held our position. The car was in one piece so we were happy about that with the way things have gone the last couple of races.”

Hill started fifth and finished sixth in her heat race.

“There was a good three-car battle in front of me and I was right there with them,” she said. “The track was a bit rough and I wasn’t able to get past anyone.”

She rolled off seventh in the B Main and finished eighth.

“The bottom was the place to run and that’s where everyone was,” she said. “I was just kind of waiting for someone to make a mistake, but it didn’t happen.”

Hill, who exited the feature early after using a provisional, is looking forward to this weekend’s 46th annual Winter Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The half-mile oval in Mesquite, Texas, is a track she finds more to her liking.

“I’m looking forward to racing at Devil’s Bowl this weekend,” she said. “It’s one of my favorite tracks, but we haven’t been able to race there much recently because of the weather.

“We haven’t done real well lately and part of that is because the tracks haven’t been the type I do best on. Devil’s Bowl is a type of track I generally do better on so I’m anxious to return there.”
