WESTERN IGNITES SATURDAY AT LVMS BULLRING; LAMB GRABS 3, DAVIDSON 1 AT ACE

Bryan Dawson of Phoenix, Ariz., USAC’s 2012 Las Vegas Ignite Midget Champion, leads the 2013 Western Ignite Pavement series to the Las Vegas (Nev.) Bullring this Saturday. He won the recent Western pavement opener at Lake Havasu, Ariz.

Dawson’s 12 LVMS appearances in last year stamp him as the overwhelming favorite Saturday. In 2012 he posted five wins, four seconds and three thirds!

Chris Lamb of Colfax, N.C. will lead the USAC Eastern Ignite Midgets to an April 20 race at Shenandoah, Va. After sweeping three of four feature events last weekend at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. He scored two feature wins Friday and one Saturday and is 26 points ahead of Matt Lundstrom in the standings.

Lamb opened the 2013 USAC Eastern series with a pair of 25-lap feature victories Friday night at Ace. Lundstrom, was second and third in the two races. Lundstrom was second in the opener ahead of Tyler Corriher, Wil Raber and Billy Gaule. In the closer Lamb was trailed by Nic Davidson, Lundstrom, Ryan Krachun and Matt Supan. Supan led the first eight laps in the first race before Lamb took over. Lamb passed Davidson on the 16th lap of the finale.

Lamb and Davidson were 25-lap winners Saturday. Lamb passed Corriher on lap 11 of the first 25, then led the last 15 laps to beat Corriher, Gaule, Krachun and Mike Ward. In the nightcap, Raber led the first three laps and Lamb the next 20 before Davidson, of Greensboro, N.C., paced the final two laps for the win. Lundstrom finished second ahead of Corriher, Ward and Lamb.
