WVSO Spring Sizzler Events Rescheduled

Officials with Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval are rescheduling events set for the April 11th Knutson General Contracting Spring Sizzler season opener to later dates due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

The $2,051 to win Spring Sizzler Pro Late Model and $1,200 to win Tommy Wentz Classic for Thunder Cars events will be moved to the May 16th race night for the Zero Handicap Military Appreciation Night. This event will feature the $2,051 Jerry’s Auto Supply Pro Late Models, $1,200 Dick’s Heating and Air Conditioning Thunder Cars, Holoday’s Custom Muffler B-Mods, Mountain Dew Jr. Late Models and Northwest Figure 8 Oval Challenge.

Officials with WVSO are working with the NW Mini Stock Tour to find a new date to reschedule their points race later in 2020. Both the events for Plumb Perfect Roadrunners and Mtn. Dew Jr. Lates from April 11th will be doubled up on a later event date.

“With the newest restrictions in place in Washington State including the 14 day Stay At Home order issued last night, we’ve made the decision to move the Spring Sizzler events. This past offseason we worked hard with neighboring tracks to stay off each other's dates, so with our limitations of date availability and not wanting to overlap with other tracks, it was best to move these races to existing race nights,” said Jeremy Anders WVSO General Manager.

All paid entries for the Spring Sizzler will be moved to the May 16th date event.

The Spring Sizzler was gearing up to be one of the biggest season openers in years with over 23 Pro Late Models and 17 Thunder Cars Pre-registered with more expected. Most of these drivers will be back for the events on May 16th.

WVSO will be working on an additional practice event between now and the May 16th race event.

WVSO will continue to monitor the situation with Covid-19 Virus outbreak and restrictions regarding the April 25th scheduled event. Follow the track information on wvso.com or our Facebook page for all the updated information regarding schedule changes.
