Kyle Strickler Finishes Second in Atomic 100 Wells and Sons Motorsports Set for LOLMDS Weekend

Hazard, Kentucky – Kyle Strickler enjoyed a solid weekend behind the wheel of his Wells and Sons Motorsports No. 8 Big Blue Smoke House/ Allstar Performance/ Longhorn Race Car/ Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model. He kicked things off with a Top-10 finish on Friday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway before racing to a runner-up performance on Sunday afternoon in the Atomic 100 at Atomic Speedway.

“Wow, what a weekend for our team,” Strickler said. “I had hoped for a better finish on Friday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway, but we learned a lot for the next time we go back. On Sunday at Atomic Speedway that track had a ton of character. I did my best to keep my nose clean throughout the event. To finish second to McCreadie with a lot of top-notch guys behind me gets me really excited about what this year will hold for our team.

“Again, this is an opportunity of a lifetime that I’ve got with Wells and Sons Motorsports. I’m on a mission to prove to everyone that I belong here. I can’t thank the Wells family and all of our supporters enough for what they have done and continue to do for me.”

Kyle Strickler opened his weekend on Friday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) with the Southern All Star (SAS) Dirt Racing Series. Earning the fifth-starting position for the $4,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Strickler raced in the Top 10 throughout the feature before crossing the finish line in the eighth position.

After weather shifted Saturday’s plans to Sunday, Kyle traveled to Atomic Speedway (Alma, Ohio) for the Atomic 100. After laying down the fastest lap in qualifying, Strickler posted a second-place finish in his heat race behind Tyler Erb, which positioned him fifth on the starting grid for the feature.

With $10,000 on the line, Kyle battled in the Top-5 throughout the feature atop a challenging, racing surface. When the checkered flag dropped, he was credited with a runner-up finish behind Tim McCreadie with Devin Moran, Tyler Erb, and Tyler Carpenter completing the Top-5 finishers.
