Setser finishes fifth in USAC Mid-America Midget Week opener at Sweet Springs
A busy four-race week with the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship took Gunnar Setser across three states as part of Mid-America Midget Week, beginning Tuesday at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex in Missouri.
Setser kicked off the week on a high note, delivering a career-best fifth-place finish in USAC Midget competition during the opener.
The following night, at the Chad McDaniel Memorial held at Mitchell County Fairgrounds in Kansas, Setser finished second in his heat race and gained one position in the feature to come home 14th.
After a travel day on Thursday, Setser resumed action in Nebraska for a two-day stop at Jefferson County Speedway. On Friday, he advanced five positions in the main event to notch a 10th-place finish. He wrapped up the weekend with a 13th-place run in Saturday’s $10,000-to-win finale.
Setser is currently 10th in the latest USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship point standings.
