Kalbus, Urban, and Tolliver top Slinger Speedway Futures Race
Slinger, Wis. Sept. 15—The 2019 Slinger Super Speedway racing season came to a close Sunday afternoon with The Futures event as Jay Kalbus, Matt Urban, and Chris Tolliver won the main events in the Sportsman, Hobby Stock, and Slinger Bees divisions respectively.
Kalbus won the 35-lap Sportsman feature over Andrew Meyerhofer and Paul Wagner while Tyler DePorter and Brian Weinfurter completed the top five finishers. Dale Lecus Jr. finished sixth followed by Jake Schraufnagel in seventh and Dylan Wenzel in eighth. Carl Benn and Tom Elsinger finished ninth and tenth respectively. Benn and Elsinger also each won a Sportsman heat race and Jay Kalbus was the fastest qualifier at 12.702 seconds.
Matt Urban claimed the victory in the 15-lap Hobby Stock main event, holding off Ryan Lovald in the process. Nick Ostberg finished third ahead of Mike Krueger and Mark Melchiori in fourth and fifth respectively. Ryan Lovald won the Hobby Stock heat race.
Chris Tolliver held off Garrett Konrath and Jakob Hassler to win the 30-lap Slinger Bees feature. Zach Greer finished fourth and Brandon Tackes took the checkered flag in fifth. Slinger Bees heat races were won by Nick Schneider and Chris Tolliver while Carl Benn was the fastest qualifier.
