Tyler Loughmiller Wins Friday Night at LPS
The UMP Mods were on the card for the big night 1 of the Sprintacular and 17 entries came to battle it out. The 2 fast times for each group were Jerry Bland Jr. and Tyler Loughmiller. Heat 1 had Kenny Carmichael Sr. look very strong from the pole and won the heat over Sydney Landes, Jason Cox, Jerry Bland Jr. and Joey Iliff. Heat race 2 Tyler Loughmiller came from 4th to win the heat over Cody Wright, Jack Dossey III, Matt Mitchell and Roger Mills. This setup the A main with Tyler and Kenny drawing the front row. This would be a great battle amongst the 2 as Kenny Carmichael Sr. took the early lead and for the first 5 laps looked really strong in front of the field. At the halfway point Jack Dossey, Matt Mitchell and Dustin Golden were the 3 that were making the big moves from their starting spots. The 99T took the lead from Kenny and then it was time to get into lapped traffic. The JD3 of Jack Dossey made his move to 2nd and was catching the leader. Tyler had a couple lapped cars that he was trying to get around and while he was trying to make a move on a lapper Jack was right there waiting on any mistake by the leader. Tyler was able to get around the lapped traffic and in the final laps was able to hold on for the 20 lap UMP Mod win. At the checkers it was Tyler over Jack Dossey III, Matt Mitchell, Kenny Carmichael Sr., Sydney Landes, Dustin Golden and Scott Ricketts. Thanks to all the teams for coming out and these same mod heroes in 2 weeks will battle it out for 2 grand in the Gary Ricketts Buckeye Bob 33 race.
The Bombers also were on the card Friday night and they had 16 entries with fast times going to Josh Vancleave and Josh Foxworthy. Heat race 1 Randy Foxworthy was able to win the heat race starting from the outside of row 1 and holding off Josh Vancleave, Isaiah Smith and Katie Grigsby. Heat race 2 was won by Tyler Rodgers from the pole over Josh Foxworthy, Scott Tidwell and Brad Davis. This setup the A main with Josh Foxworthy and Tyler Rodgers on the front row. Josh Foxworthy would take the win over Scott Tidwell, Josh Vancleave, Randy Foxworthy and Katie Grigsby. Thanks to all the Bomber teams that came out and thanks to USAC for an outstanding night 1 at the Sprintacular.
