Kraig Kinser Nearly Nets Top-10 Result at Beaver Dam

Inside Line Promotions – BEAVER DAM, Wis. (June 24, 2019) – Kraig Kinser battled for a top-10 finish last Saturday at Beaver Dam Raceway, which hosted the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial presented by Karavan Trailers.
Kinser kicked off the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event by qualifying sixth quickest before he finished third in a heat race after lining up on the outside of the front row.
“We qualified good and put ourselves in a good position, but we couldn’t capitalize in the heat race,” he said. “The outside lane was hard to get going. I had to fight to stay in third getting into turns one and two. It’s just the way luck goes sometimes. We were in the wrong lane in the start of the heat. We still felt like we were pretty good and had a decent starting spot in the main event.”
Kinser started ninth in the main event.
“There were some things we could have done setup-wise to get us in better shape for the feature,” he said. “We were battling on the edge of the top 10 the whole time.”
Kinser ended with a 12th-place finish.
Sunday’s event at Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa, rained out.
The 41st annual AGCO Jackson Nationals at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., is up next. The $41,000-to-win event runs this Thursday through Saturday.
“It’s been around for a long time, but it’s turned into a marquee event lately,” Kinser said. “It’s a beautiful facility and the track keeps improving. It’s nice to see a dirt track make improvements like that. To have a big race like that, hopefully it keeps going and being a premier event.”
