At a Glance: Texas Two-Step Weekend

WHAT
•The World of Outlaws head south for the Second Annual Texas Two-Step Weekend at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore on Friday, March 12 and The Texas Shootout at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown on Saturday March 13. Joey Saldana, who was the most recent winner on the tour, won all three races in the Lone Star State last season and heads to Texas this coming weekend as the current World of Outlaws championship point leader. In the first five events of the 2010 campaign, four different drivers have picked up wins, with Jason Meyers being the only multi-time victor so far this season.

WHEN
•On Friday, March 12 at Lone Star Speedway, the pit gates will be open all day with the pit sign-in taking in the middle of the afternoon with the grandstand gates opening at 5 p.m. Central and racing set for 8 p.m. Central.

•On Saturday, March 13 at Houston Raceway Park, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot laps set for 6 p.m. Central with qualifying to follow and racing set for 7:30 p.m. Central.

WHERE
• Lone Star Speedway is located in Kilgore, Texas. Take I-20 to exit 583 (at Liberty City), then 0.5 mi. north on Hwy. 135, then 1 mi. east on FM 1252, then 0.5 miles south (track is on the right).

•Houston Raceway Park is located in Baytown, Texas. Travel East of Houston on I-10 to exit 798, then 3 mi. south on SR 146, then .8 mi. east on FM 1405, then 1.5 mi. northeast on FM 565.

TICKETS
•On Friday, March 12 at Lone Star Speedway, Reserved tickets are $30 in advance and $35 on the day of the race, with General Admission tickets $25 in advance and $30 the day of the race. Tickets for children (ages 6-12) are $15, with kids 5-under admitted free of charge. To purchase tickets online visit http://www.lonestarspeedway.com or call the track at (903)-986-9731.

•On Saturday, March 13 at Houston Raceway Park, Tickets for adults will be $30 in advance and $35 the day of the race, with tickets for juniors (ages 6-12) $15. Children ages five-under will be admitted free of charge. Pit combos will also be available for $38, which includes a grandstand ticket and a pit pass if purchased in advance.
