Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. – For the first time in more than a decade the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will return to I-80 Speedway for the NAPA Shootout.

On Friday, June 6, the premier sprint car series will showcase the “Salute to the King” tour, which honors 20-time series champion Steve Kinser as he is embarking upon his final season of chasing the championship, at I-80 Speedway.

“It’s a real wide track,” he said. “It’s a good-sized race track and a lot of fun. It’s nice to go back there and run.”

Kinser has recorded a pair of victories on the big track, winning in 1999 and 2002.

“It’s always been a good track to race on and a lot of fun for the fans,” he said.

The Kinser name has been synonymous with Victory Lane at I-80 Speedway. In addition to his wins, Kinser’s cousin, Mark, was the inaugural winner in 1995. In fact, Mark Kinser claimed the first four World of Outlaws races at the track and he holds a series-best five total wins.

Missouri native Danny Lasoski, who won the most recent race in 2003, has four victories and three-time series champion Sammy Swindell is the only other driver with multiple wins. He was victorious in 1997 and 1999.
