Budweiser Salute to the King Outlaw Showdown Will Rock Rolling Wheels Raceway Park on Saturday, Oct. 11
King of Beers honors Steve Kinser's final run at 'The Fast Track'
In one month on Saturday, Oct. 11, the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars will help Rolling Wheels Raceway Park close out its season with the Budweiser Salute to the King Outlaw Showdown.
Budweiser is the King of Beers and Steve Kinser is the King of the Outlaws so matching the two together on Oct. 11 at high-speed 5/8-mile oval is the perfect way to spend a Saturday night in the midst of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week taking place throughout Central New York. It will also mark Kinser's final appearance at Rolling Wheels as a touring racer with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars. Kinser, a 20-time series champion from Bloomington, Ind., has 12 Outlaw victories at Rolling Wheels, more than any other driver.
Off the track there is an exciting opportunity to gain access to the unique Bud Light Beer Garden VIP Experience. For $100 fans will get pit access, seating in the pit grandstands, FREE parking, an open bar, a buffet, closed circuit TV coverage and the opportunity to meet one of the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series stars.
"It's hard to say exactly what it is about Rolling Wheels," said Kinser, who last won at Rolling Wheels in 2012. "The biggest thing is that we've always had success there. It started really early and every time we show up it's continued. It's a big track where you can use the speed of these cars. The corners are tight enough that you have to hit them just right to maintain your speed and get all the way down to the other end. We have a couple of tracks that just fit my driving style perfectly. We've been able to win a lot of races here, and the goal is to get another one. It's a pretty good drive up there, but I can tell you the trip home after a win is always a good one."
Defending Rolling Wheels winner Donny Schatz has been the hottest sprint car driver on the planet this season. He's dominating the standings in a quest to earn his sixth World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship during a season that has seen him win 20 races for the second year in a row, move into third-place all-time on the Outlaws' record list, and capture his eighth Knoxville Nationals crown. Schatz is a three-time Rolling Wheels winner who is aiming to continue building on his historic season.
In addition to the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars, the night will also feature the Win-and-You're-In DIRTcar Big-Block Modified event, where the winner secures the final starting position in the NAPA Super DIRT Week $50,000-to-win Syracuse 200 on Sunday, Oct. 12, at the New York State Fairgrounds' historic 1-mile oval in Syracuse.
