Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (May 5, 2014) – As the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series schedule heats up, Big Game Motorsports driver Sammy Swindell is looking forward to building momentum through repetition.

Swindell and his Big Game Treestands team will be in action for a trio of races this week starting with his first-ever visit to Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., on Wednesday before a race on Friday at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., and an event on Saturday at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind.

“The biggest adjustment is the lack of time,” he said. “We’re doing a lot more traveling and racing more nights in a week.”

Swindell enters the competition this week ranked 10th in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship standings after a challenging weekend at Eldora Speedway.

“We had some problems when we got there,” he said. “We made a change and it wasn’t the right part. We qualified with it missing. That just put us behind.”

Electrical issues hampered the Big Game Treestands team throughout the night on Friday, when Swindell qualified 21st quickest – less than one tenth of a second out of the heat race inversion. He was unable to start his heat race and was relegated to the Last Chance Showdown, which Swindell won to transfer to the main event.

“We made another change for the heat and it still wasn’t right,” he said. “We got it sorted out for the (Last Chance Showdown) and the car was pretty quick there.”

Starting on the inside of the 10th row in the feature, Swindell and the team decided to experience with some of the setup.

“We tried something a little bit different because we were pretty much out of going for the win,” he said. “We changed some things around on the car to see if we could learn something.”

Swindell picked up a couple of positions before ending with a 17th-place result.

The Big Game Treestands team returned to Eldora Speedway for the finale on Saturday.

“It was a bit better,” said Swindell, who qualified 16th quickest to claim the final spot in the heat race inversion. “We made a slight change on the car and it wasn’t quite as good. That put us on the front row of the heat and the car was good there.”

Swindell led the distance in his heat race to advance to the dash, where he started last – eighth. Within the first two laps Swindell advanced into fifth place before he ended with a sixth-place result. That lined him up on the outside of the third row for the main event.

“In the main we really didn’t change the car much all night because it was pretty good,” he said. “We put on a new set of tires and filled it up with fuel and pretty much the car didn’t have any grip. It was way loose. It was probably one of the worst cars I’ve driven up there. I’m not sure what caused all that. The car just got aggressively worse until the end when it started to get some rubber down in places.”

Swindell hung on to a top-10 position for most of the first half of the race before the handled on the race car rapidly deteriorated. He was credited with an 18th-place finish.
