Swindell and CJB Motorsports Taking Confidence into World of Outlaws World Finals

Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (Nov. 1, 2015) – Sammy Swindell owns a lot of confidence entering this week’s Bad Boy Buggies World of Outlaws World Finals.
Swindell will wrap up his season this Thursday through Saturday driving for CJB Motorsports at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
“I feel real confident,” he said. “We’ve had a good car most all of the races. Barry (Jackson) has worked on some things and we’ve talked a lot. I’m really looking forward to it. I think the car will be better than it has been.”
Swindell claimed the first-ever World of Outlaws race at the 4/10-mile oval in 2000 and he also won a World Finals feature in 2012.
“That place is more or less a circle,” he said. “You’re not going straight very long. With the banking you have to get your car to where you can keep your throttle on and the back end stays behind you. If you can do that it gives you a good opportunity to be able to run whenever you want on the track.”
The action begins on Thursday, when drivers will qualify for both the Friday and Saturday races.
“We’ve always had a pretty strong qualifying package,” he said. “As long as we get the setup right I think we’ve got a car capable of winning. You always want to try to qualify well to make it easy for yourself to get locked into the dash (through a heat race). That’s probably one of the tougher formats because it’s so much different than anything we do all year. There’s such a long time span from when you practice to qualify. The track can make huge changes. It makes it hard to get it right sometimes.”
Swindell and the CJB Motorsports team have been stout qualifying this year and the team has picked up a pair of feature wins, which is the goal to close the 2015 season.
“Winning that Saturday race, that’s the last race of the year,” he said. “There’s a long time until the next one usually so you get to carry that through the winter. That doesn’t hurt to have that. I’ve done it before and you can carry a little momentum and everyone gets a little pumped up through the winter.”
