Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (March 30, 2016) – Sammy Swindell will be joining the season-opening National Sprint League race next week for the second straight year.

Swindell and the CJB Motorsports team are heading to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, on April 9 for the first of approximately 19 National Sprint League events on their schedule this season.

“I was there at the inaugural race last year,” he said. “Everyone there was really nice. It must have been successful enough because they are doing it again. That’s good for the race track and good for the series. I enjoy being there. It’s a nice facility and there’s a lot of nice race fans around there.”

Swindell has recorded three straight top-10 finishes at the 3/8-mile oval, including a ninth-place result last year with the National Sprint League.

“I like it because both ends are different,” he said. “It challenges the driver instead of hold it wide open and don’t move the steering wheel. Especially when it gets slick or you get a cushion you have to start using the brakes and it plays into it more. I appreciate the tracks that are like that.”

Swindell plans on racing approximately 60 percent of the National Sprint League events around the Midwest, including six events at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., and six at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

“It gives us a little time to be up around Jackson and Tod Quiring’s shop,” he said. “We’ll work there while we’re up there. It’s a good place to get to race and it’ll give us some time to practice for the Knoxville Nationals. It’s a lot of positives for me. I hope we can reward everybody, our sponsors and fans, by having a great year up there.”

Swindell scored a pair of National Sprint League victories last season when he swept the $25,000-to-win AGCO Jackson Nationals at Jackson Motorplex in September.
