Kaleb Johnson Continues Winning Streak at Huset’s Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (May 27, 2025) – Kaleb Johnson is in rare air after recording his third straight sprint car win to open the season at Huset’s Speedway last Sunday.
The Team DGRD driver is the first competitor since 2008 to capture the first three points races at the track, according to the results on the track’s website.
“I thought two was pretty neat to accomplish and now we’ve done three,” he said. “I was bummed Monday rained out to try to keep it going, but you can’t do anything about the weather.”
Johnson set quick time during his group before he advanced from fourth to second place in a heat race to move into the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 5 to line up on the inside of the third row in the main event.
“I thought the night went pretty well,” he said. “I feel we’ve had a few tougher heat races at Huset’s this year. The good thing is that it forces us to pass cars to see how our car is for later in the night. I felt good after our heat race.
“I knew beating Kerry Madsen off the front row is tough (in the feature). Once we got to traffic he made a mistake and I was able to capitalize on it. I ripped the top and got the speed to be able to pass on the next lap.”
Johnson executed the race-winning slide job on Lap 12. A late caution set up a green-white-checkered finish, but Johnson pulled away in open track for his third consecutive weekend with a win at the track.
He pushed his points lead at Huset’s Speedway to 19 points.
The only other race of the weekend was on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, where Johnson was 11th quickest in qualifying and third in a heat race. He capped the night by advancing from 11th to ninth in the main event.
“I was a little bummed about Knoxville,” he said. “I felt our balance was a little off. The track was pretty top dominant and we were too snug to pass people how we needed to. We all knew we weren’t as good as we needed to be. To move forward and get a top 10, that’s a good sign. We’ll try to be a little better next week.”
Johnson ranks fifth in the Knoxville Raceway championship standings.
A Cressman Sanitation Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars race on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., as well as the weekend finale at Huset’s Speedway on Monday both rained out.
Johnson will return to Knoxville Raceway this Saturday and to Huset’s Speedway on Sunday.
