Brad Whiteside Collects Mackenzie Kulesza Memorial Checkered Flags

RANSOMVILLE, NY (August 9, 2024) Brad Whiteside from Caledonia, NY was victorious in the Mackenzie Kulesza Memorial for the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks at the Ransomville Speedway Friday night. Ryan Susice from Wilson, NY scored his second Krown Undercoating 358 Modified win of the season. Brett Senek from Ransomville, NY won his first Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman feature of the season. Nigel Pendykoski from Chippawa, Ontario collected his seventh Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman.
Friday night also featured the Rusty Merrick Memorial Kids Rides. IMA North America, Chris's Appliance Repair, Heinz Tree and Land Service, and Modern Disposal presented the racing action.

Curt Rung and Cole Susice were on the front row for the Mackenzie Kulesza Memorial for the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, with Susice in the lead. The caution would come out as Matt Hornquist got loose on the front straightaway and collected eight cars. On the restart, Wynes would take the lead away from Susice, as James Gayton raced his way to third place. Gayton would pull into the infield with a flat right rear tire on lap seven. Brad Whiteside would take over second place and would try to chase down Wynes for the lead. The caution would come out on lap 12, as Maggie Guyle and Nathan Powers got together on the front straightaway. The restart would see Wynes and Whiteside on the front row, with Wynes in the lead. Whiteside would take over the lead with six laps remaining, with Chris Leone taking over second place. Whiteside would go on to score the win.

Noah Walker and Phil Vigneri III brought the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds to the green flag for their 30-lap feature event, with Walker in the lead. Ryan Susice would battle with Chad Brachmann for third place, and then would immediately go after Vigneri for second place. Gary Lindberg would challenge Brachmann for fourth place on lap 10, just as Susice took over second place from Vigneri. The leaders would encounter lap traffic on lap 18, and Susice would take over the lead. Mat Williamson entered the top five on lap 20 as he passed Brachmann. Williamson passed Vigneri for fourth place with five laps to go, but couldn't advance any further. Ryan Susice would go on to score his second win of the season, and 20th of his Ransomville career in the 358 Modified division.

Jake Bansmer and Abby Castile were on the front row for the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman feature event, with Bansmer showing the way ahead of Mike Kramarz, Dave Conant, and Derek Wagner. Dave DiPietro came to a stop on the front straightaway to bring out the race’s first caution on lap three. Conant would take second away from Kramarz on the restart, as Cody McPherson would battle with Brett Senek and Derek Wagner for positions inside the top five. Brett Senek would take over second place on lap nine and would go after race leader Jake Bansmer. Senek would take the lead fron Bansmer on lap 11 and Wagner would take over second place just one lap later. Cody McPherson would pass Wagner for second on lap 15, as Senek would increase the lead. Senek would go on to score his first win of the season, and 17th of his Ransomville career.

Tyler Foster and Nigel Pendykoski brought the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman to the green flag for their feature event, with Foster in the lead. The caution would come out as Foster got loose and Pendykoski made contact, with Sheldon Gardner, and Kyle Teeter having nowhere to go. Jocelyn Just would inherit the lead on the restart. Pendykoski would take over second on lap four. Cameron Rowlands would spin in turn two to bring out the caution. Just would lead on the restart, with Pendykoski racing in second place. Pendykoski would take the lead away from Just on lap 10 and would drive away for his seventh win of the season.

Ransomville Speedway is back in action on Friday, August 16 as the Southern Ontario Sprints make their return to Ransomville Speedway for their only race on US soil in 2024. The KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks will be racing in their points finale. The Vintage Cars will also be making their annual appearance. Rounding out the racing card will be the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman and the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks.
