Haud 9th at World Finals
PETERSEN MEDIA: Making his first start with Destiny Motorsports since announcing the 2014 combination, Jac Haudenschild scored finishes of 14th and ninth at the World Finals in Charlotte, NC over the weekend.
“It was a good way for us to start out our relationship together,” Haudenschild said.
With time trials for Friday and Saturday being held on Thursday night, ‘The Wild Child’ timed the Mondak Portables/Rick Rogers Construction/Speedmart backed entry in fifth fastest for Friday’s show before timing in 15th quickest for the Saturday night finale.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race on Friday night, “Haud” slipped back into the fifth spot as he fought a car that was a little ‘free’ on the slick track.
Unable to get into the top four, Haudenschild moved into the B main, where he started on the pole.
Essentially using it as a hot lap session, Haudenschild went on to pick up the win, and gave some information to the crew to hopefully get the car even better for the feature event.
Lining up in the 13th spot for the feature event, Haudenschild got off to a nice start, as he worked his way up inside the top ten late in the feature event.
With laps ticking off, ‘Haud’ eventually crossed the stripe in the 12th spot, but it was deemed he jumped a start, and was credited with a 14th place finish.
Back in action for the final event of the 2013 season, the Wooster, OH driver lined his machine up on the front row of his heat race, and tallied a second place finish putting the Destiny Motorsports No.9W machine in both the feature event, and the Dash.
Starting seventh in the Dash, there wasn’t too much passing to be had, and ‘Haud’s’ seventh place finish put him in the fourth row for his final sprint car feature event of the season.
On an extremely slick track, Haudenschild drove extremely hard as he tried to work through the field, but unable to gain any ground through much of the feature event.
When the checkered flew on the 2013 season, ‘Haud’ crossed the stripe in the ninth spot.
“Overall I’d say it was a decent weekend, and something to really build on for next year,” he added.
“As a car owner, I couldn’t be more proud of how are team worked all weekend long,” Rick Rogers said. “We all worked together a couple months back for a weekend, but everyone rolled their sleeves up and really worked all weekend, and I’m excited for next year.”
Destiny Motorsports would like to thank Mondak Portables, Rick Rogers Construction, Speedmart, Wesmar Racing Engines, Keizer Wheels, Triple X Chassis, Driver Websites, and Benic Enterprises for their support through the 2013 season.
