David Gravel and Destiny Motorsports Look Forward to Big Week Of Racing
PETERSEN MEDIA: Struggling in both feature events over the weekend, David Gravel and his Destiny Motorsports team are working hard to get ready for a big week of racing that kicks off this coming Thursday night.
“We just seem to struggle at the start of each race and we put ourselves in a hole,” Gravel said. “We are working hard trying to see what is hindering us, but we are all confident we can snap out of our funk heading into this week.”
The week ahead his highlighted by Saturday night’s Kings Royal at the Eldora Speedway; a week that kicks off what has been known as the Month of Money. With the Destiny Motorsports team and Gravel both having had success at the event in year’s past, confidence is high as they work to put a frustrating week behind them, and focus on getting the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Champion Brand Lubricants No. 7 up front.
Before the ‘Greatest Show on Dirt’ invades Tony Stewart’s renowned facility, racing action resumes on Thursday night as the series takes to the Limaland for the Brad Doty Classic in Lima, OH. A race that pays homage to one of the greats, Gravel heads into Thursday’s event looking to improve on a disappointing showing during the 2014 event.
In action over the weekend at the Cedar Lake Speedway in Cedar Lake, WI, Gravel opened the weekend up on Saturday night by timing in 11th fastest and finishing second in his heat race. Lining up 11th in the feature event, the Watertown, CT driver would slip back to a 17th place finish.
Timing in second quickest on Sunday night, Gravel would finish fourth in his heat, and sixth in the Dash. Lining up in the third row of the feature event, Grave would lose valuable ground in the early goings of the feature event as he finished 14th.
“These races are tough enough to win when you start up front, so to fall back after putting ourselves in good starting position is really frustrating,” Gravel said. “Everyone is continuing to work hard, and I think a couple of good runs this week will be a shot in the arm for us.”
Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Rod End Supply, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, GME Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their support in 2015.
ON TAP: Destiny Motorsports and David Gravel will take to the Limaland Motorsports Park on Thursday, before Kings Royal Weekend at the Eldora Speedway on Friday and Saturday night.
