McMahan 12th at Placerville Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to the track where his Sprint Car Career got started, Paul McMahan and his Destiny Motorsports team finished 12th during the 2nd Annual Short Track Outlaw Showdown at the Placerville Speedway.
“I thought we laid a pretty good lap during time trials for when we went out, but we still had to make up some ground during the heat,” McMahan said. “In the feature we were able to make some headways but we lost breaks and it made things tough on the little ¼ mile track.”
Timing the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine in 15th fastest during qualifying time trials, the Elk Grove, CA native turned Nashville, TN resident would finish in the fourth spot of his heat race and transfer into the 40-lap feature event.
With the Placerville Speedway slicking off as the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series hit the dirt for the A Main, McMahan would get off to a nice start from his 15th starting position as he charged towards the Top-10.
Battling with Donny Schatz and Willie Croft during the middle part of the feature event, McMahan would begin fighting his brakes as he worked around the slick, high-banked speedway.
Losing a few spots over the course of a pair of late cautions, McMahan would end his night with a 12th place finish aboard the Rick Rogers Construction/Boss Signs and Graphics/Maxim Chassis No. 7 machine.
“It was an okay night, but we still aren’t quite where we want to be,” McMahan added. “The boys are doing a great job for us still, and hopefully we can keep trying to make more headway. I want to thank Rick and Barb Rogers for continuing to support us, as well as all of our partners for everything they do.”
Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, FK Rod Ends, Walker Performance Filtration, KSE Racing Products, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their continued support.
