Charley Tour Wins Second Leg Of Upstate Bombers Challenge
The second race of the two-race Upstate Bomber Challenge took place this past Saturday night with Charley Tour of Potter Valley claiming the $1,000. The first event took place at Redwood Acres Raceway on August 15 and was won by RAR late model driver and current division points leader Dustin Walters.
Three Redwood Acres Raceway drivers started the 45-lap feature event. Jordan Krupa scored the highest finish with a fifth-place effort. Ed Rasmussen who is second in points for RAR’s late model class finished eighth while Jim Redd finished ninth driving the car that has been piloted by Donnie Brown in RAR’s bomber division throughout 2020.
Simi Tour finished second earning $600 for his effort. Drew Smith in third received $400. Fourth place Brenton Smith pocketed $300 while Krupa’s fifth earned the Eureka native $200. Charley Tour win the trophy dash and one of the heat races while Loren Powers, Jr. won the other heat race.
The 2020 season for Redwood Acres Raceway continues this Saturday September 12. Legends, bombers, mini stocks and roadrunners will return to action for the penultimate event of the season. Late models will have the weekend off but will be in action during the season ending Fall Spectacular on September 26.
