Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (April 25, 2018) – Seth Bergman maneuvered to his seventh top-five finish of the season last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway during the track’s 65th annual season opener.

Bergman kicked off the night by qualifying 16th quickest and placing third in a heat race, which lined him up on the inside of the ninth row for the 18-lap A Main.

“We didn’t have a good start to the night,” he said. “Qualifying put us behind the eight ball, but we had good speed. We’ve been racing good around Knoxville the last couple of years. We dug ourselves too big of a hole to contend for the win. Starting that far back you get as many cars as you can.”

Bergman rallied from 17th to a fifth-place finish, which earned the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

The weekend began the previous night at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., during an ASCS Red River Region race. Bergman powered from seventh to third place in a heat race to garner enough points to make the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 3 during the random redraw to start the A Main on the inside of the second row.

“We had a good night going until the A Main,” he said. “I made some errors going into the feature and we just missed it. I didn’t get a great start and a couple of guys got me. I fell into sixth and rode right there.”

Bergman’s sixth-place result extends his top-10 streak at the track to 12 straight winged sprint car races.

The team will venture to Kentucky this Friday when Bergman will make his debut at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com.

“We’re looking to go contend for a win,” he said. “I enjoy going to new tracks so we’re excited about this weekend.”
