Tommy Tarlton Hard Charges at Ocean Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back aboard the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21 machine on Friday night at Ocean Speedway, Tommy Tarlton was one of the few to move forward during the non-stop feature event as he charged from his 14th starting spot to finish eighth.
“It was fun to get back racing, I just wish we could have finished a little better,” Tommy Tarlton said. “Paul Baines and the guys gave me a good car in the feature event, but the race went non-stop so we weren’t able to do a whole lot in the main.”
Timing the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales No. 21 machine in 14th fastest in time trials, the Easton, CA native would miss the heat race inversion and line up in the third row of his heat race.
On an extremely hammer down Ocean Speedway in heat race action, Tarlton would chase after Kyle Offill and Dustin Golobic but wasn’t able to make up any ground in the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates entry as he would finish in the fifth spot.
Gridding the field from the 14th starting position for the 30-lap feature event, Tarlton would show some good speed early in the race as he would power his way up to the 11th spot when the race came to life.
On the extremely fast Ocean Speedway, Tarlton would crack the Top-10 on the 10th lap where he would run for the next 13 circuits. As traffic would come into play, Tarlton was able to get by Dustin Golobic to take over the ninth spot, before getting to the eighth spot in the race closing laps where he would finish.
“We got moving when there was opportunity, so that was a good thing,” Tarlton added. “Thanks to everyone who has their name on this car, and who continues to support Tarlton Motorpsorts.”
Tarlton Motorsports would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2017 season.
