Three Nights of Action on Tap for the ASCS Gulf South Region

TULSA, Okla. (May 18, 2015) Three nice paydays are on tap this Memorial Day Weekend as the Southern Trailer Works ASCS Gulf South Region presented by Griffith Truck and Equipment takes on a trio of tracks with each night offering the winner a $3,000 check.
Starting at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco on Friday, May 22 the south Texas tour heads for the Shady Oaks Speedway in Goliad, Texas on Saturday, May 23 with the three day swing coming to a close at the Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas on Sunday, May 24.
To make the three night swing even sweeter, consecutive victories comes with bonuses thanks to Challenge Drilling, Griffith Truck and Equipment, and Cooper Motorsports. Any driver that wins two of the three nights will receive a $1,000, with an additional grand added to the pot for sweeping the weekend for a winner’s share of $11,000.
Scottie McDonald currently leads the ASCS Gulf South series standings by 17 markers over Kevin Ramey. McDonald with a single win on the season is the third different winner in four nights of competition. Ramey, with consistency on his side, has placed in the top-five in three of the four nights contested.
Off a pair of Podium finishes with the ASCS Gulf South Region, Travis Rilat currently rides third with Michael McNeil and Tommy Bryant making up the top-five.
Defending series champion, Channin Tankersley, is sixth. The Highlands, Texas driver will enter the weekend with a new ride after a hard crash in the team’s last outing. Seeking his first triumph of the season, five-time series champion, Ray Allen Kulhanek is currently seventh. Shawn Petersen is eighth with Caleb Martin and Jacob Lucas rounding out the top-ten.
Friday, May 22 at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway will see gates opening at 6:00 P.M. with races at 8:00 P.M. (CT). Support classes will include Modifieds, Sport Mods, I-Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, and Jr. Minis. Saturday, May 23 at the Shady Oaks Speedway open at 5:00 P.M. with action getting underway at 7:00 P.M. (CT). Additional classes include Modifieds, Dwarf Mod-Lites, and Limited Late Models. Sunday, May 24 at the Battleground Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (CT). The night’s card will include Eco Stocks, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Mod-Lites, and Limited Modifieds.
