Top-10 finish in Mountain Moonshine Classic prelim at SMS

In a stout field of 45 cars, Beets’ sixth-place finish in his heat placed him on the sixth row for the preliminary feature. With $5,000 on the line, Eli gained three positions in the 30-lapper to register a ninth-place finish.

On Saturday, Eli fell back to an eighth-place finish in his heat, relegating him into the B-Main for another shot at the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic. Needing to place third or better, Beets recorded an eighth-place outing.
