Runner-up finish in Johnny Mulligan Classic at Ponderoa

Friday night found Eli Beets in action at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) for the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series-sanctioned Johnny Mulligan Classic.

After his 12.909-second lap in time trials earned him the $500 fast time award, Beets outran Josh Rice in his heat race to pick up the win. Chasing Rice to the checkers in the 40-lap feature, Eli raced to a second-place finish with Michael Chilton coming in third.
