3rd Annual Freedom & Fireworks Presented by Pepsi - Results
A HUGE thank you to each and every person that came made wonderful memories at our 3rd Annual Freedom & Fireworks Celebration presented by Pepsi last night at Thunder Mountain Speedway.
The Best Plumber 604 Series invaded the mountain for $2000 to win last night and it was one of the best late model races ever held at the speedway. We had 18 drivers from 3 different states enter last night's event. Logan Walls out of Junction City, KY and current track points leader set quick time at 12.758 during time trials. Heat race #1 went to Logan Walls. Heat race #2 went to William Blankenship. The final heat, heat race #3 went to Reed Hatchett. Skylar Marlar out of Winfield, TN rolled out fourth in the feature and was able to use the high line and pick off Blankenship and Walls to take the lead about mid-way through the race in an absolute barn burner. Skylar Marlar picked up the $2000 payday with Walls, Blankenship, Perry, and Hatchett rounding out the top 5.
Open Wheel Mods did not disappoint as well. Jeremy Sears out of Gray, KY set fast time during time trials at 13.527. Heat 1 went to Sears, and Heat 2 went to Corbin, KY's Brian Nantz. Sears was able to get the jump at the start of feature and held the lead until lap 8. Nantz was able to get by Sears and lead the rest of the way. This made Nantz's second win of the season at Thunder Mountain. Sears, Dyer, Saylor, J. Brock rounded out the top 5.
Hobby Stocks had 17 signed for last night's event. Brayden Noble of Tyner, KY set fast time at 15.023. Heat race #1 went to Bo Gilley and Heat race #2 went Zac Karr. Gilley and Karr ran hard side by side for the first few laps before the red flag came out. Gary Anderson out of Booneville, KY had a hard hit to the turn 1 wall and rolled over. Anderson was okay exited his car under his own power. Karr was able to lead the rest of the way and secured win #5 of the season at Thunder Mountain. Gilley, Callebs, Noble, and Jones rounded out the top 5.
Front wheel drive had 21 cars on the grounds last night. Raymond Fuson out of Williamsburg, KY set fast time at 15.199. Fuson picked up the win in Heat 1 and Austin Leach won heat #2. Fuson and Leach went back and fourth during the feature but Fuson was able to hold off Leach for the win. Leach, Rowland, NIck Adams, and Kawasaki rounded out the top 5. The 2nd chance shoot out for an extra $100 went to Niota, TN's Brandon Porstner.
Crown Vics had 7 entries and Joshua Shupe out Corbin, Ky set fast time at 16.375. Philip McFerron picked up the heat race win. McFerron and Wilson raced hard for the first few laps, but Wilson was able to take the lead on lap 4 and go on to win. McFerron, M, Shupe, J. Shupe, Helton rounded out top 5.
The Jr. FWD had the highest car count of the 2025 season with 4 entries. Chevy Adams out of Crossville, TN set fast time in time trials at 15.651. The Jr. FWD feature was held before intermission and Chevy Adams was able to go flag to flag for the win in the 10 lap feature. Hayes, Strunk, and Sadie Adams finished out the running order.
