Inside Line Promotions – NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (June 2, 2020) – The Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 season got underway last weekend at Park Jefferson International Speedway, where Greg Wilson showed vast improvement from the opener to the finale.

“Last weekend we stumbled and wasted Friday night for multiple reasons,” he said. “We had been 360 racing and things are different. I was trying to use some of that. We were better on Saturday. Now I feel like we’re ready to go racing. The All Star deal is going to be about as tough as it gets with lots of tough race cars and guys coming in and out that are really tough.”

Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road sponsored team opened the weekend with a challenging draw. Although Wilson qualified 14th quickest overall, that ranked seventh best in his group.

“It was a tough heat race,” he said. “That being said, I’m not traditionally a great qualifier. You get stuck in a group like that with competitive guys who win races and are good qualifiers, that put us behind. We weren’t very good either to be honest. However, we made changes and got better throughout the night.”

A ninth-place heat race result was followed by charges from sixth to second place in the C Main and from 17th to 12th place in the B Main.

Saturday was a more efficient night for Wilson, who qualified 19th quickest – fifth best in his group. He maneuvered from fifth to third place in a heat race to lock into the main event. Wilson closed the night by gaining a trio of positions to finish 13th in the A Main.

“I was happy when we loaded up on Saturday that we were a lot better,” he said. “That gives us a good direction as we’re facing a busy schedule. Repetition helps our team more than probably any team. The amount of races we have coming up is really good for us. To be at the track, making changes and get right back to the track will be benefit our team. Just look at last weekend where we went from Friday to Saturday.”

The All Star schedule heats up this weekend with races on Thursday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla.; on Friday at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla.; on Saturday at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha, Okla.; and on Sunday at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., during the Cometic Gasket Thunder Through the Plains presented by Hercules Tires.

“I haven’t been to the first three tracks we’re going to this weekend,” he said. “I always seem to be okay at bullrings and there are a couple of bullrings this weekend so hopefully that plays into our favor.”
