Dover Records Best 360 Knoxville Nationals Result Since 2018

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 4, 2025) – Jack Dover produced his best result at the Xtream powered by Mediacom 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank since 2018 last weekend at Knoxville Raceway.

Dover piloted a sprint car for Shayle Bade Racing during the 35th edition of the marquee event that featured more than 80 competitors, ending ninth in the B Main on Saturday to finish only five positions out of making the coveted main event.

“I’m happy,” he said. “It’s important to get more laps and get into a rhythm of hitting the corners at Knoxville. Considering we weren’t planning on racing the event and it being our first time in that car, to end only a few positions out of the A Main, we’re pleased.”

Dover qualified 26th quickest to open Friday’s preliminary night. He then won a heat race to lock into the main event. Dover climbed from 17th to a 13th-place result, which was his best preliminary night result since 2021.

“We were up to eighth or ninth on the last restart with four or five laps to go,” he said. “I knew I had nothing to lose so I tried the middle and lost a few spots. We had a top-10 car so I was happy with that.”

The event concluded on Saturday with Dover maneuvering from 14th to ninth place in the B Main.

“We had a good shot at a top five,” he said. “The first corner I had a plan to go through the middle. Somebody went in and wasn’t on the gas. We almost destroyed the car as I had to swerve to not hit him and I went over the cushion. We fell back to around 18th and rallied back to ninth. We had a lot of speed.”

Dover returned to the Tim Estenson Motorsports No. 53 on Sunday during the Avanti Windows & Doors Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank. It marked his first time competing in the event, which showcased more than 70 drivers.

“Before the night started we agreed it was a test night and we couldn’t get upset,” he said. “As a driver that kind of eases your mind, but you still go out there and try your hardest.”

Dover was 24th quickest in his group and he placed eighth in a heat race. The night wrapped up with a charge from 15th to eighth place in a B Main. That was the most positions gained in the consolation race by any driver.

“It seems we can’t qualify well, but come race-time we can pass cars,” he said. “We kept working on the car. There were things we wanted to do more, but we didn’t have time to do it. We think we’re better prepared going into the Knoxville Nationals.”

Dover will compete in the 64th annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s this week at Knoxville Raceway. His preliminary night is Thursday.
