HUNT LOOKS TO SECURE SIXTH USAC CHAMPIONSHIP WITH EBAY MOTORS ON BOARD
LINCOLN, CALIF. (November 22, 2010) – USAC Western Sprint Car Series points leader Tony Hunt will hope to win his sixth career USAC title as he drives the eBay Motors-sponsored #56 car in the Turkey Night Grand Prix at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale.
Hunt will also be looking for his 52nd career USAC victory in a storied career that places him in rare company among United States Auto Club history.
He enjoys a 43 point lead over rookie Luis Ramos III in the points standings. Hunt, a two-time winner (2001, 2006) of the prestigious event, drives for Mike Phulps / Metal Works entry with Schwanke spec engine power under the hood.
Joining Hunt for the 70th running Turkey Night Grand Prix will be new marketing partner eBay Motors. eBay Motors is a place for consumers to buy and sell autos, trucks, parts, motorcycles, boats, and other used cars and vehicles on eBay’s online auction site.
“I’m very excited to have eBay Motors on board for Turkey Night,” Hunt said. “Hopefully we can bring home the race win and the series championship with them on the car.”
Hunt is also looking to continue his momentum before the new USAC Western Classic Racing Series kicks off in 2011. A new influx of young racing talent will be invading the sprint car ranks for this series that is slated to include both eight dirt and eight asphalt races all in Northern California.
The last time Hunt raced was the big two-day show in September at Meridian, ID where he finished second on Friday night and eighth on Saturday night.
