LaRose wins track championship at Doe Run, Robards posts strong weekend results

The RS12 Motorsports duo of Zander LaRose and Harrison Robards turned in four top-10 finishes over the weekend across two Midwest states. Plus, LaRose ended his season-long campaign at Doe Run (Missouri) Raceway with a track championship trophy in the LO206 Restricted Box Stock class.

At the 1/6-mile Doe Run Raceway on Friday, LaRose drove to the runner-up spot in his heat race and both started and finished second in the 10-lap A-Main. He took the checkered flag behind Karter Bates, with Alianna Evans, Maverick Beard and Presley Hall rounding out the top five.

At the conclusion of an impressive LO206 Restricted Box Stock season, which saw him win multiple times, LaRose claimed the track crown.

Meanwhile, Robards raced in both A-Class Winged Micros and Winged Outlaw Micros at Doe Run.

In A-Class he posted a runner-up finish in his heat and started on the pole for the 15-lap feature. He led the first five circuits before ultimately taking the checkered flag in the runner-up spot, 1.413 seconds behind winner Lane Seratt. Kameron Chamness completed the podium, with Liam Warren and Matt Bagby finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

In Winged Outlaw Micro competition, “Dirty Harry” took the fifth spot in his heat and came home 14th in the 20-lap A-Main with a DNF after starting 10th.

On Saturday, the Spartan Transportation-backed RS12 Motorsports team moved to the Land of Lincoln to race in the Dan Robinson Memorial at Wayne County Speedway in Wayne City, Illinois.

LaRose raced non-wing in the Junior Sprint division for the first time and posted solid results at the 1/5-mile oval. “Z Man” finished sixth in his heat, then started sixth and finished fourth in the 15-lap feature. He followed Mason Vincent, Kasen Lynch and Ryker Toops under the checkered flag. Kiley Bates took fifth.

As he had the night before, Robards participated in two classes at Wayne County. In A-Class Winged Micros he won his heat race, positioning him second to start the 20-lap main event. He fell back struggling in the turns as the track slicked off, but still finished seventh. In the night’s Outlaw Winged Micros program, Robards was fourth in his heat but did not start the 15-lap feature.
