Brandon Sheppard
Podium finish in Connor Bobik Memorial at Marion Center Speedway
A day after picking up Monday’s Farmer City 74, Brandon Sheppard returned to the driver’s seat of his Sheppard Riggs Racing No. B5 Late Model on Tuesday at Marshalltown Speedway (Marshalltown, Iowa) for the fifth round of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries.
With 33 Late Models entered, Sheppard raced his way into the opener via a consolation victory after missing a transfer spot by one car in his heat. With $23,023 on the line, Brandon gained seven positions in the 50-lapper to finish 11th.
For another $23,023-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event on Wednesday at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa), Brandon’s fourth-place finish in his heat pinned him on the eighth row for the feature. Wheeling his way into the top-10, Sheppard passed seven cars to place ninth.
Joining the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Friday, Sheppard trekked to Marion Center Raceway (Marion Center, Pa.) for the Connor Bobik Memorial. With a heat victory sending him into the redraw, Sheppard jumped up two positions from the fifth-starting position in the feature to finish third. He chased Ryan Gustin and Shane Clanton to the checkers with Nick Hoffman and Bobby Piece completing the top-five finishers.
Saturday's World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series event at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) fell to wet weather.
Brandon sits in fourth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.
