Brandon Sheppard drives to fifth in Illini 100 finale at Farmer City
Brandon Sheppard followed the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) on Friday evening to pilot his Coltman Farms Racing No. B5 Late Model for the annual Illini 100 weekend.
Racing into the $10,000-to-win preliminary with a third-place finish in his heat, Sheppard climbed six positions in the 40-lapper to place sixth.
On Saturday, Brandon got behind the eight-ball early in the night and was never able to recover. Using a provisional into the $20,000-to-win Illini 100, Sheppard advanced through the field 18 spots in the 60-lap affair to register an impressive fifth-place finish. He trailed Bobby Pierce, Nick Hoffman, Tyler Erb, and Kyle Bronson to the checkers.
Sheppard leaves Farmer City Raceway with a 24-point lead atop the latest World of Outlaw point standings.
