Ball Earns Top-10 Finish During Debut at I-30 Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 11, 2016) – Jamie Ball got off to a good start with new crew chief Ricky Logan as the White Lightning Motorsports team traveled to I-30 Speedway last Saturday in preparation for next month’s COMP Cams Short Track Nationals.

“With it being our first time to I-30 Speedway one of our goals was to maintain and to learn what we can for Short Track Nationals,” Ball said. “And to bring home at least a top 10.”

Ball kicked off Saturday’s event at the quarter-mile oval by starting on the inside of the second row of a heat race. He finished fourth, which lined him up ninth for the feature.

“I had a couple of heavy hitters in the heat race that I knew were going to be tough to beat,” Ball said. “But we were overall happy with our heat race finish, which put us starting within the top 10 for the feature.”

Ball made gains throughout the main event as he finished sixth, which was his 23rd top 10 of the season.

“We were able to be aggressive and competitive, which was one of our goals on short tracks like these, and it gives us a good baseline for Short Track Nationals,” Ball said. “Ricky Logan was a great help as a crew chief and driver coach. He’s one of the best guys to have in your corner.”

Ball will return to action with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this Friday and Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, for the Winter Nationals.
