Henry Racks Up Another Pair of Top-Tens

FREMONT, Ohio – Continuing his tear in Northwest Ohio in 2015, Cap Henry has made every main event he has attempted, and finishing inside the top-ten in over 70 percent of those races. Friday and Saturday at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway, respectively, the persistent front-runner again showed why he is a top contender for the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title, collecting his 10th and 11th top-tens in 15 races this season.
A car count of 29 came out to compete at Attica in the 410 sprint division on Friday night, with Henry stopping the clock 12th-fastest in qualifying with a 12.769-second performance. Starting his heat race from the outside pole, he was able to nab the lead on the first lap, but succumbed to the polesitter on lap two, taking the second-place finish.
A direct transfer into the 30-lap main event, Henry would take the green from the sixth starting position. Running in that spot for the opening laps, he was able to sneak into the top-five on the ninth circuit. Soon, the driver Henry is chasing in FAST Series points, Byron Reed, was closing on the bumper of the Genzman Racing Enterprises No. 53. While holding Reed off for several laps, Henry dropped the position at the halfway marker. In the closing laps, it looked as if the sixth-place finish was set in stone, but when third-running Jamie Veal slid over the banking and lost three positions with five to go, Henry was back into the top-five for the conclusion of the race.
Heading northwest to Fremont for Saturday night, 31 teams arrived to close out the FAST doubleheader weekend. 13.118 was the time Henry set in qualifying, a 19th-quick effort. In heat race competition, Henry would again start outside front row. But in contrast to Friday night, Henry led all eight laps to score the win.
Unfortunately, the automatic transfer to the feature was coupled with qualifying time, miring Henry to the 16th position on the grid for the 30-lapper. The Bellevue, Ohio native made his best attempt to cut through the cars ahead of him to gather the best finish possible. Up to 11th by lap 12, Henry resisted the slick track surface, lightly pedaling his machine into ninth with about ten laps left. Another late-race pass, this time with two laps remaining, projected Henry into seventh ahead of the checkered flag.
Henry would like to thank Level Performance, J&J Auto Racing, OC Shocks, FK Rod Ends, Simpson Race Products, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, HMS Speedways & Hobbies, Handy Grafix, and Kear's Speed Shop as well as his family, the Genzman team, and all of his great fans for their continued support.
Henry is next scheduled to compete on June 12 at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, and on June 13 at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, both with the FAST Series in the Genzman Racing Enterprises No. 53 410ci winged sprint entry.
