Jason Feger finishes third in Triple Down Shootout at Spoon River

With Mother Nature spoiling Friday’s Triple Down Shootout opener at Farmer City (IL) Raceway, point leader Jason Feger followed the MARS Late Model Championship Series to Fairbury (IL) Speedway on Saturday to kick off his Labor Day weekend.

Aboard his Corrosion Technologies No. 25 Late Model, Feger backed up the fifth-fastest qualifying effort with a heat race triumph. Rallying after a lap-37 flat tire relegated him to the tail while leading the feature, Jason salvaged a 10th-place finish.

For another $5,000-to-win MARS event on Sunday at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Ill.), Jason stormed into the Labor Day weekend finale with a flag-to-flag heat race win. With the redraw placing him on the third row, Feger clawed forward two spots in the 40-lapper to finish third. He joined race-winner McKay Wenger and Ryan Unzicker on the podium.

Jason remains leading the latest MARS point standings.
