Mark Burch Motorsports – Opportunity Calls
NEWTON (June 3, 2010) – Three days of racing over the Memorial Day weekend proved to be a patience tester for the Mark Burch Motorsports, Chad Humston Racing team.
Chad Humston piloted his Mark Burch Mortorsports #1M to a win in his heat, beating an always fast Lee Grosz on Thursday night at I-80 Speedway, Nebraska Raceway Park in Greenwood , Nebraska . The #1M started fourth row outside (8th) for the main event. Chad was racing hard when he lost a rod bearing; unfortunately the night ended with a halt. “I was holding my spot pretty well and just started to make a big move when the motor blew. It was disappointing but it happens.” Chad had to say of his ending to the night.
The Mark Burch Motorsports, Chad Humston Racing team made their way to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction , Nebraska where Chad spent the night wheeling the #1M around the 3/8 mile track. It was a great start to the night as Chad won his heat race in a convincing fashion. “I love racing in front of a hometown crowd and it was exactly how we wanted to start our Friday night,” he said of his run. The Mark Burch Motorsports #1M started eighth for the main event but missed the set up as the track conditions turned into a guessing game. Chad finished the night with a solid eighth place.
On Saturday the team made their way back to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville , Iowa . Chad hit the track with something to prove, giving the fans a qualifying position of fifth quickest. A crazy start to the heat slowed everyone down but Chad made his way through the field finishing with a third. The #1M started fifth for the A-Main event. The Mark Burch Motorsports car figured out turns one and two before anyone else and passed Ryan Roberts for fourth. Chad was catching Selvage for third when a late race caution came out. A traffic jam on the restart pushed the #1M back to a sixth place finish. “All in all it was a very successful weekend.”
Be sure to look for the Mark Burch Motorsports #1M driven by Danny Lasoski this Friday in the Master’s Classic at Knoxville Raceway. “Our team has been fortunate to work with some really great drivers over the past 17 years. We have had the pleasure of having guys like Don Droud Jr., Doug Wolfgang, Billy Alley, Terry McCarl and Skip Jackson run our car at Knoxville in the past. Back in 1996 I think we loaned Rick Ferkel an engine. This year we were hoping to get Tim Engler for the Master’s Classic. The day after I found out that Tim wasn’t going to be able to make it out for the race Danny Lasoski called. How do you say “no” to guy with his track record at Knoxville?” Owner Mark Burch had to say of the upcoming event. “This is also going to be a great opportunity for Chad to get some tips from Danny. That scenario has already paid off as Chad had one of his best nights running the bottom last weekend just from advice that Danny has given us over the phone. I know that Danny has an Outlaw race to run, but we are really looking forward to having a well prepared car so that he can just jump in and do his thing!” Mark said of the opportunity.
Chad Humston will be back behind the wheel of the Mark Burch Motorsports #1M on Saturday competing in the Knoxville Raceway 360 class. “I’m looking forward to Friday and will be trying to learn all that I can from Danny; hopefully it bodes well for our Saturday night event.” Chad said.

Engler Machine and Tool, Inc.
Engler Machine was started in 1980 by Tim Engler. His main line of business at that time was plastic injection molds. Over the years he has diversified very widely leaning more towards "high performance products". He now builds fuel injection systems, custom made pulling chassis, gears, shafts, specialty CNC products, racing engines and some custom machining.
Tim has been involved in tractor pulling and holds 13 national titles in that sport, he no longer pulls himself but, has been influential to the success of many other pullers through his advice and building capabilities. He races winged sprint cars when time allows this is something he truly likes and wishes he had more time to do.
Currently, Tim and his staff have been developing a new mini-sprint fuel injection system. There are a handful of these units currently being dyno and track tested with great results. Look for full production of these units this summer. Please call 812-386-6254 for more information. (www.englermachine.com)

Wireless Amber Alerts
The Campaign: On May 25, 2006, National Missing Children’s Day, The Advertising Council launched a national, multi-media public service announcement (PSA) campaign designed to raise awareness of The Wireless Foundation’s Wireless AMBER Alerts program and to encourage all wireless subscribers to aid in the search for abducted children. Radio, outdoor, interactive and television PSAs were created.
In May of 2008 program partners; The Ad Council, The Wireless Foundation, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and the U.S. Department of Justice announced the addition of www.wirelessamberalerts.org En Espanol. This online PSA campaign encouraged Hispanic adults to sign up for Wireless AMBER Alerts by providing a Spanish version of www.wirelessamberalerts.org. During the Ad Council campaign, the Wireless AMBER Alerts program received an estimated $153 million in donated media support. The work that The Ad Council developed unquestionably helped raise awareness around the issue of abducted children and for that The Wireless Foundation and all of the program’s partners are very grateful. The partnership between The Ad Council and The Wireless Foundation ended in May 2009. (https://www.wirelessamberalerts.org/index.jsp)

Vortex Racing Products
Vortex Racing Products is the industry leader in Sprintcar Wing design. From humble beginnings in 1995 where we began producing wings for our own use we quickly became engaged in producing wings for other race teams. Inspired by a life-long background in racecar design and manufacturing from our Dad, we (Paul and Lynton) continued to evolve into a company known for producing a product a little different from the rest. This ability to manufacture a Wing that is unique in design is what has been our success. With the use of our own race teams in Australia and America, we continually push the boundaries of design with an extensive testing program of our products each and every year. It is with our understanding of chassis design and manufacturing that we are able to communicate with our clients and tailor a wing package that best suits their driver, team and make of chassis. We call this,” The Vortex Advantage”. (http://www.vortexracingproducts.com.au/)
