26 Promotions – Bakersfield, CA – (July 4, 2018) – Dylan Cappello scored his third podium finish of the season Saturday at Kern County Raceway.

“During practice on Friday night we started very fast right off the trailer,” said Cappello. “It was great to know that we weren’t lacking any power after a motor failure in Madera. My guys did a great job getting the motor in a day before leaving for Kern. We began making changes to help our long-run speed late in the evening, and in our last session we found what the car needed and felt like we had a great car going into Saturday.”

Cappello and his Team RBK crew decided to only make one run during Saturday's practice sessions due to the warm weather and track conditions that wouldn’t be seen during the feature race.

Cappello qualified third with a lap of 18.928, earning himself a spot in the Quick 6 Dash.

“In the Dash, we were given a chance to put on our race setup and see how the car handled in traffic,” he said. “The dash was a nice confidence booster for the main event, and it gave us some insight into more adjustments needed to keep a balanced car for 75-laps.”

With a six pulled for the invert, Cappello started the SpillVak Triple Crown I presented by GEICO feature event on the outside of the second row.

“At the start of the race we jumped into third and quickly gained second while setting our sights on the leader,” Cappello explained. “The car behind us was faster, and I let him by to possibly learn a new line or follow him by the leader. The plan almost worked, but as the faster car took the lead, I became held up behind second. I tried rattling his cage for close to 30-laps and was finally able to pull off the pass on the last lap. We didn’t have anything for Jason Irwin, he was bad fast, and it was cool seeing him get a win in the series.”

Cappello sits fourth in Lucas Oil Modified Series points as the series heads to Rocky Mountain Raceway on July 21st.

“We look forward to building off of another top three this year going into one of my favorite tracks,” he said. “We have had a lot of success at Rocky Mountain Raceway, and we plan on being even better than last year.”

Dylan Cappello would like to thank Geico, Quick Response Garage Doors, Spray Nine, Driven Motorsports, Team RBK, Pro Power Racing Engines, Total Power Batteries, Roger Seymour Photography, and Bilstein Shocks for their support.
