Lone nitrous car to go to Round Two at World Wide Technology KSHE's Night of Fire & Thunder
For the KSHE's Night of Fire & Thunder at World Wide Technology Raceway, the nitrous guys had their work cut out for them against these superchargers, blowers and turbos. Nitrous cars made up five of the 21 Pro Mods of the event! We qualified as the top nitrous car in fourth, with Jim Widener next in 11th, Tony Strachan 14th, Dennis Hagedorn 15th and Ryan Bush rounding out the Show in 16th after Keith Goolsby was unable to make the first round.
Pro Mod Debut
We want to give a big shoutout to Ryan Bush as this was his Pro Mod debut in his Pat Musi nitrous powered first gen Camaro! Ryan started running with the Mid-West Series at Flying H Dragstrip in the Pro 4.20 Class. He made changes to the setup and upgraded from a single kit to four stages for this race! He ran a best of 4.05x this weekend. We look forward to his progression into Pro Mod for the 2025 season as he plans to continue racing the Pro 4.20 Class when available.
Lone Nitrous Car
All of the nitrous racers faced blower cars in Round One, which made for a tough round, losing four of the five. After E1, we were the lone nitrous car set to carry the torch for the rest. We returned to the pits and began the process of turn around for Round 2 which had us racing "Mr MPH" Ed Thornton and his twin-turbo '70 Camaro. After his 212 MPH pass in E1, we knew we had our hands full.
Unfortunately, Ed proved to be too quick for us, running a side by side 3.717 to our 3.733!
What's Next?
We're gearing up for the next Mid-West Drag Racing Series race in Martin, MI in September. But first, we are taking a break to enjoy some family time over the 4th of July holiday. We hope you do as well.
