One Race... One Win!

We opened the season at Park Jeffeson with a win! The JSTS sprint field had 19 cars. We drew 40 out of 40 to start the night off. Good thing it was a finish and passing points program for the feature lineup. We were in the first heat and it was a marathon. The first lap took three tires; the front row spun in turn two on the first try, We spun in two on the second start, then the 20 spun again. Finally when the heat got going, the Lutz Racing sprinter split traffic and had enough fuel to finish second behind Steve Ballenger. The likes of Dusty Ballenger and Billy Alley ran out of fuel in the final laps, giving us the highest point total with passing points heading into the feature. We started the feature on the pole. Gregg Bakker started behind us, but got the lead on the opening lap when he went below us on the start. Bakker led until we blew past him out of four to take the lead for good. It is always awesome to win, but to race against and beat great drivers like Gregg is truely great.

After doing car maintainance back home in Sioux Falls, we are heading back out to tackle the banks of Eagle Raceway in Eagle Nebraska.
