ALGER, WA (August 30, 2017) – The ups and downs, especially with a young team, that come with the grueling World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series schedule are inevitable and Brent Marks and his two-man crew are no stranger to such.

Last weekend in North Dakota, Marks opened the weekend on a rough note but bounced back on the final night in Minot. This week the roles were reversed.

Friday night, Brent Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/ Eagle Hotel/No. 19, made his first trip to the Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, South Dakota. Marks was strong all evening on the big half-mile scoring KSE Hard Charger honors; coming forward to eighth in the Feature, his 16th top-ten finish of the year.

A strong start to the weekend was nulled when Marks lost power to his No. 19 during the Feature at BMP Speedway in Billings, Montana the following night. “That’s definitely not the way we wanted to start our trip West,” an understandably disappointed Marks said following the blown motor.

“We’ve had a busy week making sure we are fully ready for the West Coast swing, but we are looking forward to the challenges of racing out West,” Marks said.

Marks will see a trio of racetracks for the first time during a busy Labor Day weekend for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars starting Friday and Saturday evening at the Skagit Speedway in Alger, Washington. From there, Marks will venture south to the Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington, before concluding the four races in six days schedule Wednesday evening at the Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Oregon.

Once the racing action gets underway, Marks has proved to be a force all season. Marks has five KSE Hard Charger awards in his rookie campaign with the Outlaws and is always coming on late in the race. “We just need to put ourselves in position for the end of the night. The car speed is there,” Marks said in anticipation of getting back behind the wheel.

Quick Results:
8/25 – Black Hills Speedway – 8th
8/26 – BMP Speedway – 21st

Upcoming:
9/1 – Skagit Speedway
9/2 – Skagit Speedway
9/4 – Grays Harbor Raceway
9/6 – Willamette Speedway
